POMEGRANATE

Pomegranate's most abundant polyphenol is punicalagins. From 1990-2007, 39 Peer-Reviews research show that punicalagin has potent free-radical scavenging ability. A study showed that punicalagins extracted from pomegranate that there is an average32% increase in plasma antioxidant capacity.
In preliminary laboratory research and human pilot studies, juice of the pomegranate has been found effective in reducing heart disease risk factors, including LDL oxidation, macrophage oxidative status, and foam cell formation, all of which are steps in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.
In the future, more research will be conducted in the US, Israel and Norway to study the effects of pomegranate juice consumption on parameters of prostate cancer or prostatic hyperplasmia diabetes, or lymphoma.
